 Summer Term 2017

Year 3 are highly commended for their farm project!

We are delighted that Year 3 were awarded a Highly Commended for their Alresford Show farm project.  The judges who came to our school said “The work was all well-presented and produced to a high standard.  It was clear that the children had learnt a lot whilst on the trip and been inspired to work hard on the class base tasks. The judges particularly like the pupil’s scientific approach to the growing of their beans and how well they understood the need for warmth, water and sunlight.  The farm machinery was also well planned and they were impressed with the children being encouraged to review the success of their work and assess how they could improve.”  A huge well done to the Year 3 pupils and a special thank you to Tyler, David and Brooke from 3G, Manjot and Nathan M from 3W and Haydn and Daisy from 3S for welcoming and confidently presenting our learning to the judges.

Yr.3 - Herriard Park Estate

Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic day out at Herriard Park Estate on Wednesday June 14th. They learnt about sheep shearing, green energy farming, game keeping and gardening. They had the opportunity to feed chickens, and everyone came back with a seed to germinate and a smile on their face!

Home Learning Timetables

Our family support worker Mrs Lee would like to share these printable resources for you to use with your children to help plan and make their home learning more manageable.

When your child receives their home learning:

  • Encourage them to plan what home learning they will do, when and how much.
  • Spread the home learning out over the week – little and often e.g. 10-15 minutes per session.
  • Give a small, immediate reward.
  • Remind your child that if they don’t do their home learning at the agreed time, there won’t be a reward.

Autumn Term 2015

Story telling 2015

The children are using pictures of the famous Hansel & Gretal fairytale to give them inspiration for creative story writing.

Listen to Me Autumn 2015

All Year 3 classes are currently enjoying learning how to play the ukulele as part of their Listen to Me programme.  Parents will be invited into school at the end of the autumn term for a Year 3 concert, so watch the website for details and photos.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding any of the work please do not hesitate to ask questions through the Home Link Book, as it is a useful form of teacher/parent communication.  We have had a number of queries regarding the use of the Learning Logs and have included examples of students work on the attached link: Learning Logs.
