Welcome
Everyone at St Michael’s CE Junior School is very proud of our school. We are a fully inclusive, multicultural, Church of England junior school where we believe in meeting the needs of all of the children, whether that involves challenging a child because they have shown advanced skills in a particular area or supporting a child because they are finding an area of learning difficult. We are ambitious for all of the children at the school and this is reflected in our vision, which uses the phrase ‘Be the very best we can be’. Our vision encompasses all elements of school life and beyond. We strive for everyone to be ‘the very best they can be’, in all aspects of school life and when they are out in the wider world. Our values of Respect, Courage and Resilience are reflected in our vision statement and are encouraged and praised throughout the school.
St Michael’s Church is a core part of school life, with our vicar leading Collective Worship once a week and the children visiting the church for Christian festivals.
Everyone at the school works hard to ensure that all children have the skills needed to read, write, calculate with numbers and use current technology. These are seen as the core skills needed to further the journey through education and to become adults who can function well in an ever changing world. We want children to love learning and know about the world, its people, history and traditions.
We want children to embrace the future by being familiar with new technology and be able to take on new challenges confidently and positively. Our caring, committed and hardworking staff are dedicated to developing the knowledge, skills and understanding to enable children to enjoy learning and build good foundations for a successful future. We want the children to understand that they are a part of different communities: their school, the church, local, national and global communities.
We hope this website enables you to get a glimpse of the amazing life at St Michael’s CE Junior School. The school really is alive with excitement and enthusiastic learners, but ‘seeing is believing’ so please do come along and visit; the children and staff love welcoming visitors and showing them how fantastic our school is. There is a great atmosphere of resilience and enthusiasm for learning everyday, so any day is a good day for a visit.
